Description
The Guardian is a patented technology that keeps small hive beetles from entering a beehive by masking the entrance. The “Guardian” also uses red light technology that has been proven to detour the small hive beetle and disrupts their invasive efforts. Installation of the Guardian is simple and adapts to any beehive configuration from 10 and 8 frames, as well as 5 frame nucleus colonies. The Guardian gives your bees a fighting chance against the threat of small hive beetles. shb.

This really works too keep those pesky beetles out. The bees don’t seem too mind it at all.

These have proven very effective over the year – far better than anything else I’ve tried

I have three hives with the Guardian Small Hive Beetle entrance barriers installed. Along with Beetle Blaster in hive traps I’ve seen a reduction of the SHB population in my hives to near zero! I’m ordering more entrance barriers for all my splits and hived swarms! I recommend these devices to all my beek friends.

Fast shipping speedy Gonzales level, I always appreciate that. Still testing them so I cant comment on that yet, I’ve installed them on three hives will update after testing.

I tried two and I’m back to order more. There were still a few beetles after installing it abs watching a few months and then I took it off during honey flow and they definitely increased after removing it. This yard had a slimmed dead out hive when I took over care so I don’t know if they are still in the dirt or what but they need this barrier to help hold them at bay. I don’t think I needed to take it off for the flow either, they were making plenty of honey with it on.

Love these things. I’ve sat and watched those darn beetles fly in, fall through the holes, and get frustrated and leave. Who designed these things?? Genius!

I bought 12 lower and upper entrances. I have seen a significant reduction in hive beetles. The only hives I find hive beetles, are the screened bottoms. I have made vented trays with diatomaceous earth and now no hive beetles. I’ve noticed the more upper entrances whether on hive body or super, with or without a screen behind the upper entrance, bees do fan with no bearding.

Working very good. Going to get a few more

Been having issues with beetles for years, now. A constant battle. After losing my only colony (a small captured swarm that got overwhelmed by beetles and absconded) last year, I thought I’d give these a try. Two smaller captured swarms this year… since I put the entrance traps on, only one beetle in one of the hive’s internal traps. No sign of any beetles in the other hive. The girls don’t mind them, at all, and are doing great! Will definitely order more as we continue to build up the bee yard!
